I have been none stop thinking about harakeke. I finally had the opportunity presented to me to be taught by an amazing woman named Puawai. She passed onto me so much beautiful knowledge about the harakeke plant and about the traditional and sacred Maori ceremonial and spiritual aspects of weaving. This is just the beginning of my journey with harakeke. I have made several kete (baskets) and lots of several different types of flowers now!

The longer I live in the Waitakere Ranges bush the more I crave survival knowledge. There are a lot of flora! Lots are medicinal and have healing properties. Some are edible. Some are not.
