About midway through the year, I started experimenting with enamel. Object collection and use is both a reoccurring theme and constraint in my work. I started finding old enamel dishes, hammering and cutting them up and reapplying the crushed pieces of enamel, firing them up again. Through heat and transformation, volcanic thoughts seem to infiltrate the process. Dust clouds and graphic shapes started to emerge. I soon realised I was addicted to the alchemy of the process, as I moved from smaller pieces, made in a gas mini kiln, to the bigger electric kiln.
